Error Spell Checker

No matter what kind of the writing is, spelling is one of the important things you have to take care of carefully. At the minimum risk, people may not find it comfortable when reading your writing. At the worse level, people may question your capability. This is why most of the word processors like Microsoft Word and Open Office has a built-in spell checker. Whenever a word is mistakenly typed, the application will mark it with a red underline instantly. The checker is great, but unfortunately it can’t be used outside of the word processor which hosts it.

If you are looking for a stand-alone spell checker that can be used for any text editor or word processor, I suggest you to to give tinyspell a try. It works differently in marking the mistakenly spelled words. Instead of the common red underline, it alerts you with a ring of a sound that can be customized according to your liking. Every time a word is mistakenly typed, it will sound the specified alarm automatically. Aside from the on-the-fly checking, it can also be configured to detect for errors on any clipboard text. The free version of tinyspell can be used without time limitation on all of its free features. If you’re satisfied with the free performance and want to get more of it, you should obtain the advanced version.
